Retired and living in paradise, at least for now.
I may not be learning Spanish but I’m certainly forgetting English. Can’t for the life of me remember what these are called. I’m stuck saying, “lady tools.” 😂🤓🥸

Christmas parade! Santa’s got the beat. I am amazed the drums last from parade to parade. The kids are really enthusiastic. 💕🎶

Reverence for the lunar cycle is natural in this land of long, soft jungle nights. As we approach the solstice, I’m adoring my heavenly sister. ❤️🙏

I’m gonna tell the moon

While the trip to Panama wasn’t so bad, there were no monkeys or reptiles in my hotel room. Therefore, I’ve decided to apply for residency in Costa Rica…next week. 🤓🥸

Heading home in the morning. It will be a long day but paraiso al fin.

Between the fact that I have a very poor sense of direction, and there being no signs on the streets, I’m very pleased that I was able to make it to the farmacia and back to my hotel. Internet claims that one can purchase oral antibiotics otc in Panama seem to be exaggerated.

Made it to David, Panama for $14.50. I walked from the bus station to my hotel, so I was in need of hydration when I arrived.

I love watching the boats launch and land at the marina. The Ticos are strong, capable, and beautiful to behold. 🤓🙏💕

Heading to Panama next week to complete the every six month “visa vacation” requirement. They ask us to leave Costa Rica for a few days, I think to prevent our taking her for granted. Fittingly, a sinkhole has opened just outside the customs building. On the bright side, I can resupply. 🤓🥸🙏

During the rainy season, every day is either a laundry day or a put my orchids out in the rain day. Clearly today is for laundry. 🤓🥸

Well, as if this place could get more perfect! Homemade chocolate, dark, sweet, with nibs and all. I bought five of them but they may not last the night. Oh, yummm!

Had a visit from a Cocoa Woodcreeper this morning. She was searching the rafters for geckos. There was one wild chase that ended in a lucky escape. But a second poor gecko wasn’t so lucky. 🤓🥸

The all-day, gentle rain washes the sandy soil away around pebbles but not out from under them. It creates ephemeral columns with pebbles on top. More jungle magic.

Found a fallen branch with baby dendritic orchids growing on it and brought it home. I’ll turn this cabin into The Salamander Room yet! 🤓🥸🙏💕
