I have spent a good part of today enjoying India Day in Central Milton Keynes. A broad range of people enjoying music, dance and food from all parts of India. No trouble, no pushing, no shouting. Police eating masala dosa and mixing with the crowds. This is the Britain I know. Mind you, too damn hot

Thoughts and prayers to those living under the control of Durham County Council. I was thinking of trying to persuade my husband to move north but it can wait now.

In a somewhat uncomfortable position where I want to simultaneously punish Trump yet do not want him to come to any harm because I don't want the nasty, dishonest Vance in charge of anything more than filling the salt cellars.

Today I received a welcome first state pension payment. I have been a pensioner for 1 month exactly although 'economically inactive' for some time. Call me radical for a woman born in the fifties but I paid a full stamp and joined every pension scheme in every job I had.

Can anyone explain why it was necessary for the BBC to fly Sophie Raworth and Clive Myrie to Washington in order to introduce segments from reporters already based there and tell us its cold.
