Good to see. Although some of the groups that signed the letter can't really be called "progressive" anymore, siding as they are with white supremacy in increasing ways

Archeology in the region is heavily funded by evangelical Christian (Christian Zionist) money and often serves as an arm of Israeli propaganda so that's a tough road to hoe.

Such a good point. I wish I'd kept up my Hebrew better - it's declined so much but now it just feels too painful to commit to relearning it in any sustained way. Sadly it feels similarly painful to practice Judaism but I'm trying to mitigate that by looking to brave Jewish leaders who are resisting

I've long wondered if we're due for a new generation of rich people who hate their parents' politics and will direct their philanthropic efforts in different ways. This would seem like a normal progression of things.
