Sunday #knitting progress on "Antique Filigree" yoke sweater by Rachel Illsley in Rosa Pomar Modim. Started on Sept 1.

Getting a little nervous about what I have left of contrast color heading into sleeve work. Confirmed LYS still has in stock if need to buy another skein. Phew. #YarnChicken

I made some #knitting progress while on vacation in Canada last week. This is my Antique Filigree by Rachel Illsey in Rosa Pomar Mondim fingering weight wool. Love it so far.

My penguin sweater for hubby is done! #knitting

Here is yoke after blocking. I decided to do ladderback jacquard stranded technique for very first time instead of catching floats for long stretches of black behind white.

Watched a bunch of YouTube videos to learn. Very happy with results!

Progress on the penguins. Fun pattern. Should finish it in the next few days. I noticed a slight mistake I made in the placement of the snowflakes above the penguins. They're just a bit to the left when they should be centered. Oh well, the recipient (my hubby) is to the left too. :-) #Knitting

What’s better than knitting a yoke sweater for your hubby? Knitting a yoke sweater for your hubby with penguins!

It was fun finishing some small #knit projects in the last couple of weeks to give coworkers gifts while I was onsite with them last week. 2 of 3 of these were made with yarn I got at the #PhillyYarnCrawl a few weeks ago. 🧶

It’s that time of year again!

18 LYS visits in 2 days. Challenge accepted.

I’m spending the weekend supporting local small businesses. Yeah that’s the reason, sure. 🧶 #PhillyYarnCrawl #Knitting

My “Book Club Cardigan” by Sari Nordlund is done and waiting for perfect buttons.

Lots of fun details. Can’t wait until it dries. The yarn is NFC Organic Studio Worsted.

Now finishing a pair of socks while I wait for Philly Yarn Crawl next weekend. :-) 🧶

I deactivated my Instagram account weeks ago. Didn't miss it.

This morning, I got a "someone tried to log into your account" email. Was not me. Not the first time. But it will be last. Problem solved. Goodbye.

Wish I could do the same for Facebook.

And while I'm here and being grumpy on Apple...

Party invitations: Was this a problem that needed to be solved?

Upgraded laptops to MacOS 15.3 last week and now I get this pop up every single time I join a Zoom or Google Meet. Can't figure out how to make it stop.

Yes, Apple, I know reactions are off. They're off because they're stupid and unprofessional.

Last night I finished body of my “Book Club Cardigan.” Now on to sleeves and then button band.

I’m bit nervous about yarn chicken with 2.25 skeins of NFC Studio Worsted left. Always risk with hand dyed yarn. At worst it means button band in different color. #knitting 🧶

Next up on needles (started yesterday) is "Bookclub Cardigan" by Sari Nordlund, another one of my fave designers. So many gorgeous, classic pullovers and top notch patterns.

The yarn is NFC Studio Worsted. I bought all 7 skeins at once, but alternating skeins to be safe and avoid obvious lines. 🧶

My "Awakening" pullover is done! First finished #knitting project of 2025. 🧶

It's wet and taking a nap on a towel. I just have to weave in the ends (I prefer to do that after blocking). The design is by Rachel Illsley. The yarn is Allegheny Fiber Art Targhee Fingering. I started it in late Nov.

Well this is good I guess... it wouldn't let me register the old name as a placeholder. But unfortunately, there's also no way I can tell to let folks know that the old link is now a custom domain. Oh well.

Up to the boring but relaxing part where I don't have to look at my knitting as I work, much less the pattern. Straight on from here to the hem. #KnitSky

As Salesforce Superbadges go, this one was fun (and quick). It helped to cement the concepts without the frustration of nitpicky tests.

Stranded knitting is almost as much fun on the wrong side as it is on the right. 🧶
December 8, 2024 at 8:14 PM
It's always a risk to use variegated yarn as the contrast in a stranded knitting yoke sweater. The pattern could get lost. But I love how this Awakening pullover is shaping up so far. 🧶

Excited about the knitting project I started yesterday.

It's a yoke sweater by Rachel Illsey in an indie hand dyed yarn by Allegheny Fiber Arts. Got the yarn at NJ Sheep & Wool a couple of months ago.

Gauge is perfect after swatch finished drying. Going for only ~2" ease.

In September I finished knitting this pullover for my adult kid's beloved. I gave it to him last night.

Very happy with the fit. And with his joy in getting his first garment from me. :-) 🧶

He keeps my kid as happy as they've been for the last year and it won't be the last.

I’m up to knitting the last rounds of the 2nd sock so that means it’s time to prep the next one to cast on. 🧶

Will be winding up this beauty I bought at the Philly Yarn Crawl last year. For this pattern www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

Best part of attending Salesforce events like New York World Tour is the chance I have to connect with Lori Freeman. Yes, she’s the VP and GM of Salesforce for Nonprofits, but much more than that she is an incredible, authentic human who I’ve been honored to call a friend throughout my career.
