2/ I know they’re out there, i know we’re all hearing from each other and the pundit class.
I need to hear from a fellow Senator and it needs to be Oratory at a high level. I want words like ‘craven’ and ‘shame’….words like ‘duty’ and ‘honor’ and ‘integrity’

3/ .. by corporations that feed off them. None of it will align w/90% of Americans. We already see this in the lesser evil choices we have. Eventually it will in fact be pointless
The world can go to hell but I dont have to help/pay for it
A shitty answer for your very real frustration. I’m sorry

2/ The top 10% represent half of all consumer spending. This will only continue to skew and eventually what you or I do wont matter any more. They’ll spend with whomever and not care what their spending finances politically or even socially.
The political interests of the 10% will be amplified

For the moment, the consumer still has some power, so I try to be mindful of my participation in the economy. Food, Clothing, Transportation, Shelter.
From there I try to optimize for Used, Local, Repair vs Replace etc.
The trend is away from “us” having any real economic influence though…1/

5/ Most importantly, can we elect a president that helps..or even forces Congress to act like a separate and co-equal branch of government again, and which leads with a legislative agenda that codifies the rights and norms that we’ve painfully discovered boiled down to “trust me, no one would try”?

4/ Will introduce any accountability or balance to our relationship with Israel or the other human beings who live and suffer in the region?
Will we put Putin in a box and treat Russia like the mouse economy (smaller than Texas) that it is?

3/ Maybe we’ll throw them all out in 2026 and slam the door shut in 2028. Maybe we’ll lose again.
But the cabal will persist and poison our society per the plan, on schedule, and profitably.
Did we STOP doing business with Musk or Thiel or Ellison during Biden? Will we under Newsom or ??

2/ and while we’ve reacted to and stopped some of the worst of it in the courts it’s been a fighting retreat at best. We’re getting shelled on the beaches of Dunkirk to belabor the metaphor.
There is no reality where Schumer, Durbin, Pelosi, or Jeffries steps up and risks it all to bring justice

My family will rein in our spending to near zero in anticipation of what comes next and do what we can to shore up for next year and the year after.
I’ll address “the future” in a separate thread….

3/ recovering addicts will relapse. Many will seek a perverse peace in permanent solutions, others will lash out at the world starting with the very people around them who are suffering the same miseries.

2/ a new slate of hard choices will face the least secure of us and even if the final impacts arent felt for decades, it will create misery today for millions.
People will keep miserable jobs. Small businesses wont happen or wont grow. Stressed families will break and then compound the misery.

Listen doge-bro…you can invest the free cash flow any way you like, just make sure to deduct the 6.5% headwind from the interest.
Say it like this 3x in the mirror…”I’m investing borrowed money”
Miss me with the cash flow optimization theory too. Life will hoover up the savings.

Right? Why are you buying property? So maybe your grand kids can take a profit after all of that interest and FIFTY YEARS of repairs?
Notice the guy who cant sell houses anymore (Pulte) is all excited?
All that will happen is prices will go up to match the financing or people will buy more house.

3/ I probably should have started with their use of the word “Woke” and it being defined through a very online and right wing lens. I’m happy to stake out the boundaries of an argument and even agree on a shorthand, but this dog whistle is audible to humans.

2/ they talk about life like it was the comments under a Twitter post and the passive voice shields them from having to speak precisely or even critically. Assertions become fact in their estimation.
