As far as getting it done with the needle they provided goes, the best trick I figured out was to turn the needle gently back and forth as you pull it through.. but also try not to worry too much cause you can only do so much with the wrong tools. You can kinda poke pieces into place at the end

That bullion thing? As far as I could tell, the issue is that the kit doesn't include the correct needle for making that stitch. I didn't bother to order the right kind since I'm not exactly in a hurry to go putting that stitch on anything anyway, but it's not our fault 😛
