Latest post on @garbage.com albums that have given me inspo, scenes and ideas for DESTROYING ANGELS. 2016’s Strange Little Birds, has dark undertones of doubt and doom and gloom. But also joy and rage, and some pumpin’ tracks that will get you up on your feet. Like So We Can Stay Alive (see video).

Another @garbage.com album that’s given me inspo and ideas when I was ✍️ DESTROYING ANGELS. It’s#notyourkindofpeople, their brilliant 2012 “comeback” album.

This album’s Big Bright World put a key scene into my head. Also, it’s perfect for when you want to #blowshitup

Still with the @garbage.com albums that have given me so much inspo and so many ideas, before, during and (kind of) after I wrote DESTROYING ANGELS. This time it’s 2005’s #BleedLikeMe; later that year they went into a seven-year hiatus (from which they emerged as brilliant as ever). ✍️

The latest in my series on comps, inspos and influences for DESTROYING ANGELS.

This is the wonderful BEFORE YOU KNEW MY NAME by @writerock11.bsky.social which turns on its head the ‘dead girl’ trope, giving her a voice throughout the story. It’s set in New York, with an Australian protag.

A huge shoutout to Abigail Nathan at @bothersomewords.bsky.social, who recently did a Manuscript Assessment on Destroying Angels for me. Her kind (and enthusiastic and encouraging and supportive) feedback has given me the courage to think I should finally start pitching and promoting it properly.

"Graffiti art" pitch for DESTROYING ANGELS.

Astonishing movie (those two one-shot scenes). Also use of Court of The Crimson King in a key scene about a corrupt authoritarian government (and RIP Pete Sinfield, great lyricist).

Heard this in the old Fish Records in Newtown and HAD to buy it! Still on high rotation.

This book showed me how a can’t put it down thriller could at the same time be a polemic against the patriarchy
