THE SWEDISH CONSUMER AGENCY is proposing that over-the-phone sales be banned. It sounds like a wonderful idea but are they taking the nanny state thing too far? www.sverigesradio.se/artikel/stig...
Stig om telefonförsäljning: ”Oseriöst” - Radio Sweden på lätt svenska

DYNAMIC FUEL PRICING? Some of the area gasoline stations seem to be changing their prices multiple times a day. For example, we pass by at 11:30 AM and the advertised price is $2.93/gallon but when we drive by at 12:30, it’s $3.15. At 3 PM the price is $2.89. Has anyone else noticed this happening?

"Only 1.1% of Danes have to work 50 or more hours a week..." In the US it's over 10%.
What's the secret to Denmark's happy work-life balance?

OPINION: As president, Carter accomplished a great deal more than he is given credit for and was a far more savvy politician than the subsequent smear campaign would lead you to believe.
Can a good man be president?
(RNS) — Maybe this is a lesson of the Carter administration, that true Christianity often finds itself drawn away from places of power and down in the muck.

There's an incredibly strong connection between educational attainment and interpersonal trust.

Among people who have a graduate degree, 56% say that "people can generally be trusted."

Among those who went no further than high school, it's just 19%.

CHARITY AIN'T WHAT IS USED TO BE
"While red-blooded capitalists use charitable donations to help advance their individual or corporate goals, philanthropists are increasingly moving away from gifts, grants, and donations and toward vehicles that allow them to retain their wealth."
Billionaires like Musk give to charity and get something from it too
"Philanthropic cakeism" is the new paradigm for donors.

Stores that remove items on the brink of expiration, donate them to food banks and fill up the emptied shelf space with fresher inventory get more revenue from sales and earn higher profits.
Grocery stores that donate expiring food − instead of price discounting or discarding − make higher profits
Supply chain improvements could help lower the food insecurity rate and reduce food waste while boosting profits for retailers.
