Jennie Olechovsky left Ucrania to NY in 1908. At the age of 17 got married and changed her name to Janet Sobel. She was mother of 5 when she started to paint. Her work was obscured by critics in favor of Pollock who admited his admiration for her work. Peggy Guggenheim added her work to her gallery.
