It's a useful reminder that sometimes tech can make a task more efficient for one side (applying for jobs), and more efficient for the other side (writing job adverts), and yet make the system as a whole completely inefficient.

Relatedly, I've been wondering if the popularity of LLMs for programming means there is still room to design languages that are easier and faster for humans to write than what we have today.

I do think we're in a more interesting place than in the word embeddings days, and there's so much more we can do with our models. But still it's a shame that LLMs just killed off entire research areas.
