Another commission from 2021, this time for a local smoke shop! I incorporated their brand colours into the lettering, and learned how to do turkey stitch to make their logo all fluffy.

A fun commission from 2021! Got to practice some florals and try a new technique (to me) for roses.

I made this Talonfame embroidery in 2021 as a going away present for a coworker who was changing careers. I don't think I ever posted it anywhere? I would honestly love to do more Pokémon hoops!

An embroidery from 2020 of a goblin named Droop from my first D&D campaign that was quickly adopted by our party. He ended up getting captured, cursed, rescued, and was super powerful by the end of the campaign.

Hanky Code, 2018

The Hanky Code is a colour-coded system of signalling to others what your sexual preference and interests are. Widely used in the 1970s by gay and bisexual men. A hanky in the left pocket indicated one was a top, while on the right pocket meant bottom.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Ending off with a water lily for Pisces. I used beads in this piece to look like water droplets and sell the ripple effect I was going for to make the "stars" of the constellation.

Aquarius (December 20 - February 18)
To make the petals of the Orchid I used a technique called stumpwork that uses wire inside the embroidery to make the pieces come off of the fabric base. One of my main goals with this series as I continued with it was to try new techniques and challenge myself.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
My sign! When I learned that carnations are associated with Capricorn, I had to do a green carnation (IYKYK). I also incorporated more of my linework style into this piece. This is one of the only pieces in this series I still have, along with the Scorpio one.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
A dandelion on a gradient purple background that I made using watercolour pigments. I has also gotten into felting around this time and used a felting technique to make the fluff of the dandelion.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
To challenge myself a tried out the thread-painting technique for the first time to make this Chrysanthemum, and it took way longer than expected. But it really informed the style of embroidery that I now do.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
The first piece I made in the series, using embroidered roses to literally make the Libra constellation. This was an excuse to try out a new technique for roses a learned from a fellow embroider, and then turned into a whole series.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
A hanging basket of morning glories, once again, in the shape of the Virgo constellation.
January 23, 2025 at 5:20 AM
Leo (July 23 - August 22)
I made this one as a complement to Cancer and included a beaded sun alongside the marigold bush. With the flowers, again, in the shape of the Leo constellation.
January 23, 2025 at 5:18 AM
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Ruled by the moon I included a silver moon in between the blossoms of Larkspur, as well as stitching the flowers as the stars of the Cancer constellation. Which I did for many of the pieces in this series.
January 23, 2025 at 5:16 AM
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
The twins, represented by lavender. I embroidered both Provence Lavender and Spanish Lavender, and stitched the Gemini constellation behind the flowers.
January 23, 2025 at 5:13 AM
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
The only piece with a flower not typically used to represent the sign. But the branch of the cherry blossoms is in the shape of the Taurus constellation. I also used shibori dyeing to make the background fabric.
