Just a guy trying to navigate a world where kindness and decency seem to be a lost art.
This is probably a reach, but I wonder if there's an unconscious demonization of Democrats by radical Republicans because they're considered the "left." Historically, the left/left-handedness has had negative connotations, to the point where it was beaten out of them, the conversion therapy

I wonder how long this country is going to have its current obsession with fascism. It being led by such a pathetic figure makes it even more laughable, if it weren't so cruel.

I wonder how different the US would be if every Republican policy dating back to Reagan never existed. All of the deficit breaking tax breaks, all of the climate destruction because of their greed, all of the rights that were slowed down or taken away because of their bigotry.

It's hard having bad mental health days when it feels like it's poor form to just mention it. It's been a bit of a stretch of just feeling down, lonely, and devoid of enjoyment, while having to keep doing stuff because there's no choice. This is not a healthy world to live in.

There have been a lot of comparisons between 🍊💩 and Hitler. What gets me is how often it's said that Hitler was a passionate and fiery speaker, and how he was able to draw people in with his speeches... So why the hell are people drawn to the 🍊💩?

You know what's funny about the "male loneliness epidemic?" There's no corresponding "female loneliness epidemic." Men can't get a date, and they're going all over social media to complain about it, as though they're owed companionship. Women just... have friends.

The fact that the people who work for ICE have no hesitation in what they're doing speaks deeply to how racist that organization is. It's not even remotely subtle.

For those who support 🍊💩, it's ok to admit that you were wrong. He's actively hurting you and yours now, and the more you cling to him, the more humiliated you'll be. It's not that you even have to join "the other side", you just have to work against him now.

I don't get why people keep saying that F'Elon Musk isn't Tony Stark, but a Lex Luthor, or in one case a dump Dr. Doom (what?), or some other evil genius. Justin Hammer is RIGHT THERE. He was even in Iron Man 2.

It's an odd place to be mentally when your ex-wife's dad is potentially on his deathbed. What's the appropriate amount of comfort to offer? How do you reconcile all the bitterness tied up in the divorce with the very real human feelings of losing a father?

I wonder if it's possible to change masculinity from "You need to do these specific things to be a man" to "You're a man if you pursue your passions disregarding criticisms". There's so much shame involved in doing things that are considered "unmanly" that maybe if men just enjoyed themselves

One of the only bits of solace I have during these difficult times is this... 🍊💩 is a failure. He has failed at everything he has ever done, at every level. He may have conned, lied, cheated, and bullied his way into positions of power, but every time, he has failed.

I've needed to avoid social media more to keep me sanity, but feeling uninformed during these times feels like I'm failing myself and my family. This timeline sucks.

It's a little disturbing that searching up "Why clean energy is good" on YouTube brings up only negative results, as in "Why clean energy is a scam" or "Why clean energy doesn't work". Does that seem weird to anyone else? Why would the search function do that?

Would be nice if 🍊💩 pulling his corrupt cabinet together lost them the majority in the House, but would need some major miracle to win those 3 seats.

Every day is terrifying, exhausting, and infuriating. It makes this country feel impossible to live in, and the fact that nearly half the people in this country are in favor of this only solidifies that feeling.

It's interesting how the vaunted "American Spirit" has been bought out by grifters and billionaires. We were supposed to be rebels, not easily cowed by shiny objects. It's pathetic what's become of this country.

So far, according to 🍊🤡's idiotically worded EOs, we're all either women or trans men, and all undocumented immigrants are no longer under the jurisdiction of the US, meaning they can't be arrested, detained, or otherwise affected by our laws. The stupid is strong...

I'm hope scrolling today, but not seeing much... little bits, and an irrational feeling that things aren't going to go as expected are what's keeping me sane.
January 21, 2025 at 11:23 PM
I wonder if it seems like there are more terrible people than ever because we currently live in a world where it's hard to imagine a real future, so no one cares to improve themselves, and would rather indulge in their worst impulses.
January 17, 2025 at 4:16 PM
There have always been warnings of tolerating the intolerant leading to a downfall. The fact the US has allowed clearly fascist ideology to take root is a dereliction of duty, and the world will suffer for it.
January 17, 2025 at 12:16 PM
I think the ability to critically think has gone out the window... The dumbification of this country is intense...
January 13, 2025 at 10:30 PM
We need to banish the idea that under capitalism, there's a free market. It has nothing to do with the best products rising to the top and the market determining the prices. It is entirely manipulated by those who are the greediest and with the least morals. It's literally business bullshit.

Bannon vs Musk feels like Red Skull vs Obediah Stane. I couldn't think of a proper villain for Musk since his main hook is technological incompetence, so an anti Tony Stark, but there's no real big names, and I'm not comparing him to Lex Luthor, because at least Lex is actually a genius.
