The problem here is not that you care about public health. It’s that you know nothing about how public health works. There is no public health organization currently recommending that everyone wear masks because that would not be rational public health policy.

If you and your friends want to wear masks, then wear masks, but you need to understand that most people are not hypochondriacs and don’t want to live in a society where everyone is covering their face all the time. There are always pathogens circulating in the population. That’s just part of life.

It’s endemic now. It’s no longer a pandemic. Telling everyone to wear a mask all the time is not rational.
