norcal pigs raided some houseless folks outside a nonprofit food distro today. volunteers & the houseless begged to let them just take their things and leave.

they refused, then destroyed everything.

the library economy does not abolish the notion of personal property but rather creates a shared space for the cataloging, renting, repairing, and replacing of objects which we may not need all the time.

the basis of the library economy is of human connection rather than capital exchange

the movements for black liberation in the us especially set excellent examples for direct action

the black panthers led free breakfast programs for tens of thousands of school kids

no corporation will ever be solarpunk. punk is antithetical to the current socioeconomic order, business is the exploitation and perpetuation of it.

skyscrapers with trees will never make up for the oil spills, the destruction of indigenous land, and the decimation of our ecosystems.

solarpunk is a fascinating idea; one where humans and tech co-exist in tandem with a tightly integrated relationship with nature.

but there's an attempted co-opting of solarpunk both through corporate greenwashing as well as crypto groups.

let's talk about it.

there are no "apolitical" software devs, only those who are unaware of whom their software empowers

open source is the prerequisite,
free and open source is the baseline,
facilitation of digital sovereignty is the imperative

we have to be there for ppl pushed out of the subscription economy
