Fear is an emotion. Often leading pretty irrational decision making. B2B buying might be no more rational than consumer spending.

Yep. People are not rational spenders.

Survivor bias is always a dangerous trap. So, what people say and what they did, are probably equally risky to emulate. Better to take anything you hear or observe, experiment with it and see if it works for you and your context or not. De-risk the tactics by trying and being open to fail.

It's Apple ecosystem only, so possibly because a lot of lists cover things with broader appeal. I actually found it from @johnvoorhees.macstories.net on macstories.net a few years ago.

I bet this entire decision was made to “protect” their data from AI. 🤣 data that they don’t even control or really value add to. Strava is the Twitter of fitness. Cool service. Lots of adoption. Bad business. Bad decisions.

In a lot of ways, all they are is a data structure standard and API. Take that away, and what is the actual technology & business? Leaves strong opportunity for a Stripe for fitness data to come along.
