This is a good idea, however it may be a struggle to get everyone on board because we won't see significant changes right away. It will take years to see the positive effects of these smalls changes within our society.

This idea of cutting phys ed./not making it mandatory shows that an active lifestyle isn't not seen as important within the school system and therefore suggests that it may not be important in a child's everyday life either.

The decline of physical education classes within schools is an example of the governments lack of efforts to maintain health and fitness and prevent disease within our communities. In my high school, phys ed. was not mandatory after grade 9 this leads to less funding and support for these programs.

I was also questioning wether spending millions of dollars on an ad was really worth it, especially in an age where we are surrounded by advertisements. Although after doing some research I also came to the same conclusion, tv broadcasting still works!

I also love how Jordan is finding other outlets of enjoyment besides training and competing in her sport. Her participation in Dancing with the Stars shows younger athletes that professionals can still do OTHER things with their lives besides training/competing.

On Monday it was revealed that the TFF are investigating over 150 officials for supposedly betting on football matches. It was revealed that 371/571 referees have accounts with betting companies. This is an example of deviance on an official/governance level as opposed to athlete deviance.

Between my future career as an OT, raising a family, and maintaining a social life, integrating a healthy amount of physical activity into my everyday life will be a challenge. I will try to incorporate physical activities in time spent with family and friends (walks/workout classes>movies/eating)

The Sport for Life Society has created a diagram illustrating how sport is introduced into a child's life. This especially helps PARENTS understand that the likely hood of their child "making it big" is slim, and the emphasis should be instead placed on encouraging their kids to be "fit for life".

Signature moves is an example of the interactionist theory as these moves become a symbol within sport. We start to see young players motivated to try new things as they integrate these signature moves into their games/practices. They also bond over this shared move.

I would agree with Lilly because although chess can be competitive, have a strict set of rules, and strategies to win, it is lacking a physical component. I believe chess can be considered a strategic game, although it shouldn't be classified as a sport.
