Are McCarthy takes next?

So do you know how much those folks improved in year two? Is that when we will know for sure?

I did not try to dig deep but isn’t he comparable to other first year QBs in accuracy? Looked at Josh Allen and Caleb Williams and did not seem that different.

Agreed. Just so many examples of how bad the first year can be.

Comparing him to other first year QBs the past few years, his rate seems in the same range so far but unquestionably worse today. Is it that surprising he is having these struggles in his first season? Seems like some folks are way too early in the busy talk…doesn’t mean he won’t be but premature.

Absolutely spot on. What I see is the underlying abilities, both physical and mental, but he has not played the programs enough to process it all. How many QBs truly look amazing end to end 3 games into their playing careers? Pretty much zero? He keeps progressing and that is still the key.

Maybe one step further.....the real measuring stick will be after game 4 of NEXT season....Feels like that is when we will know if we have something....but even then we may not know if we don't because we have seen too many QBs continue to progress....

To me, the calculus is pretty simple. To your well made point, Wentz has not been other-worldly, so if the young one is healthy you play him. If not, sit him. This seems to set up perfect for a long session of being healthy before the game after the mini-bye. Easy decision.

This kid seems to be about resilience. He has been in control the whole game, just making far fewer mistakes now…

Horrible decision…but honestly not all that surprising on a night where his LT is a sieve and he sees sellout blitz coming.

Just so ridiculous. LT is a disaster tonight, no one should be surprised that the kid is making these kinds of mistakes.
