Music, books, games, other miscellanea... too many hobbies!
My band: tennmel.bandcamp.com
Counterpoint: I'm increasingly OK with ads as long as they're not things that seem to go against the general vibe and culture of the show and are for products that seem interesting.

Holy crap, that glimpse of the unedited insert credit audio is actually nightmarish. You do some great work!

I really enjoyed @japanesefromzero.bsky.social when I was starting to learn. George has a fun and engaging personality. I did the video course subscription for a while I'm just worked through it at my own pace.

This is also exactly the opposite of what Dark Souls is about, which invites embracing community and online features to overcome impossible challenges, and never forces you to accept its abusive stance as your reality. It's for from lovers who consider summoning 'cheating.'

Ppl ideally want p+1 challenges as the glide path to learning/mastery. p+10 challenges and "suggestions" to look elsewhere are designed to subvert this expectation. If ppl find it isolating and frustrating, it's b/c that's the point. You're being sold a feeling of superiority for overcoming neglect

I'm guessing it's partly this and partly people being a different places in their lives 7 years ago where maybe biting the head up against the wall for 2 hours straight was less of an issue

This was excellent! Need more (new) PS2 games on my Switch.

My contribution is that I took my PSP to college but I stopped playing it because my roommate complained that the sound of the UMD disc reading was just loud and annoying enough to keep him from being able to sleep at night.

I find Preply is a bit more expensive, but tends to have a higher filter for your tutor being somewhat legit. Italki is where you can go and find a random native speaker who agrees to be your language partner for like $5 which can actually be cool sometimes.

You can also easily find an affordable teacher / tutor on the world wide web these days, pretty nifty. Quality can vary and it takes time to find somebody you click with but if you're serious there are few better ways to learn than personal instruction.
