Had my cat Gus for 5 years and just witnessed him swipe food (bacon) for the first time.
He has snuck in and licked stuff, but never tried to flee during the act.

-birthday cake at Butter Bakery
-dropped off tins at Turtle Bread (yes I ❤️ all the bakeries!)
-facewash for my wife at Spa sweet

Around now each night Gus loses his mind meowing and tries to bite me because I won’t let him go outside (or to show his dominance?) then just chills out after 10-15 min of terrorizing me

When Gus was a kitten he would wait until you were done showering then hop in and try to catch drips. He stopped for around 2 years and all the sudden started doing it again
