Way back in your Dark Star episode, I kind of misread 192 for 182 and wondered if that might be an indicator that you were going to center Woodstock in the CCR episode (there'd be reasons). Now, I'm assuming it'll be CSN and maybe Y. But probably you'll surprise me.

At a concert, I once heard Fogerty take a swipe at the Dead and their half-hour rendition of Turn on Your Love Light at Woodstock, but it's amazing that Sly and the Family Stone came on two hours after CCR finished at 1:30 am.

While Aaron has you on the phone and perhaps apropos...
Since you are now basically done with both, did you learn in your research when Fogerty et al and Sly Stone et al first encountered each other and how they got along?

As a long time CCR fan, I'm happy to see people discover them afresh.
For me, one of Hickey's revelations was how meticulously Fogerty plotted out the long jam songs, of which there are quite a few. (Ramble Tamble is worth a full listen.) The short and tight/long scripted jam dichotomy stands out.

Eighteenth-Century Political Participation & Electoral Culture
18th-century Britain is notorious for corrupt and restrictive politics, when few could vote, bribery and debauchery were commonplace. But it was also an age when modern democracy was being shaped.

You talked a bit about "why did he stick with the same guys for 7 years if he thought they were no-talents?" Do you think he maybe underestimated how much the continuity of having these three guys around contributed to his ability to create even when he was doing most of the work himself?
