I'm still holding a flicker of hope Tonatiuh and Luna could get noms. Their performances were breathtaking.

A few pro-kings drivers went by and yelled at the protestors. The crowd just went silent until they drove away. No agitation and no problems.

There were no ads for it in New York City. You know, where people come to see musicals. There wasn't even a poster for the movie in the theater where I went to see it. A real shame. It deserves to be seen.

No idea why the film had so little marketing ahead of its release (or why it didn’t start with a limited release and let word-of-mouth build), but I hope more audiences will watch it and pay attention once it’s on a streaming platform.

The movie’s themes of art, escapism and activism feel very resonant as well, especially with comedians being threatened if they mock government officials.

LGBT people and People of Color are still in the crosshairs of a totalitarian government. People are still being "disappeared" when they're inconvenient.

Seems like hardly any, and I don't know why. There wasn't even a poster for it at the theater I went to last night. Fortunately, the room was pretty full. Maybe they're counting on word of mouth?
