Now imagine how happy UHC is when a majority of their commercial customers are offering higher revenue.

Take United Healthcare as an example. 29.9M in commercial plans. 8.4M in Medicare Advantage. BUT half of their Q325 revenue is from the Medicare Trust Fund and payments from the 20% in Medicare Advantage. They get $635 for someone enrolled in a commercial plans but $5,145 for each MA enrollee.

It’s not employers that are the issue. They can happily transition to paying for supplemental insurance like Medicare Advantage instead of all of the primary. And they avoid the tiny risk pools that fuck over a company when one person gets seriously ill

Medicare for All for everyone not on an employer plan. Medicare Advantage can be offered by insurance companies if someone wants more coverage.

Utilization is a primary metric. People over 55 are 31% of population but account for roughly 54% of total health spending. Under 35 are less than 25%. Utilization is going up for Medicare enrollees and cutting profit so insurance companies need changes, too. They need youth in insurance risk pools.

Spent 12 years as a digital strategist for a mid-level insurance company. There’s a partial path to UHC. Eliminate the Individual market. Expand Medicare to Individual policy holders and let insurance companies offer Medicare Advantage to all those holders. Keep Employer Insurance, for now.

A major part of the Q3 4.3% GDP growth was consumer spending. The majority increase in consumer spending came from healthcare spending. People spending too much on healthcare and getting everything done before the Republicans take away their health insurance.

Or, and I could be wrong, there’s a different interpretation of these events based on Carol’s look of epiphany while staring at a painting called Belladonna.

What the country needs is the same hybrid program that Medicare has. Medicare for All run by the gov’t. Medicare Advantage provided by the insurance companies as additional coverage if you choose.

A challenge comes with United Healthcare already employing/affiliated with 10% of physicians.

Can the next Dem president just say, “yep” to extradition? Pardons won’t matter then.

As the child of abusive parents, I know why I felt so much anger. This perfectly demonstrates the cruelty that we are afraid or unable to counter. The lack of consequence is infuriating.
