Got tired of Twitter/X and the ads and negativity. Came over here for positivity and hope.

I'm a wildlife photographer. Please enjoy this image of an African Fish Eagle I took in Kenya.

Long time no post. Events in life can sometimes be hectic. But it's nice to get a reminder of the good things.

Here is a picture of a Pileated Woodpecker. I knew he was around, but he finally made an appearance where I was able to get his picture.

It's been a while since I've been able to get photos, but I do have a lot of shots still to share. This time a Downy woodpecker.

After a while of seeing them this winter, I finally got a photo of one of the Dark-eyed Juncos that visit my feeders.

A snowy morning looking for shorebirds. I heard a unique bird in the distance and took his picture. Didn't realize he had a fish.

Looking back through my catalog of images since I started Wandering Crane Photography, I found images I took that I have forgotten. They serve to inspire and show me how far I have come.

This is in Kenya during my first trip there, and the place Wandering Crane was born.

A little late of a post, but the meaning is there all the same. Happy New Year to all.

The fog and rain didn't stop frequent visits to my feeders. Here are a few of them:
Tufted Titmouse
Black-capped Chickadee
White-throated Sparrow

At a distance it's easy for me to mistake this Nuthatch as a Chickadee, but when you see the way he moves it quickly becomes clear. Each bird I try to nickname. My Nuthatches are now dubbed Peter Quill. Because his beak looks like the quill of a pen

Another addition to my backyard visitors. This guy is a regular visitor to my feeders. I caught him enjoying a sunflower seed on a cold afternoon.

When life doesn't allow you to travel, just look in your own backyard. Sometimes I am surprised by what I see.

I have received more birds in my backyard since refilling the feeders. Here are two of the visitors I had. Yellow-bellied Sap Sucker and Bluejay

There is something magical when you capture even the most common birds as the snow falls.

I captured this American Robin, when I visited Moraine Park in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Last year, when we visited Moraine Lake in the Rocky Mountain National Park, we spotted the subtle blue of this Mountain Bluebird in the distance. I was fortunate to grab this picture.

One thing I love about Travel and Wildlife photography are the stories that form leading up to the moment you press the shutter. One such encounter for me was when I visited the Rocky Mountain National Park near Moraine Lake. It had just started to snow when I grabbed this image #wildlifephotography

At first glance, this Heron appears to be a Great Blue Heron, but turns out this is the often smaller cousin, the Gray Heron. I photographed him while on Safari in Kenya

My name's Jake. My wife and I love to do travel and wildlife photography. We make yearly trips to her family's farm back in Kenya.

This is one of my favorite shots I got right outside the house in their Garden.
