“Portal Creatures” is another piece of Penton’s series of ceramics displayed together. The stature of this creature is strong and sturdy. I wonder why Penton chose the colors he did because I enjoyed the bright hues.

“Portal Plants” by Luke Penton is a realistic ceramic of plants. The detail of succulents is what drew to this piece. It feels as though your are looking at nature that was brought into be exhibited not a man made ceramic.

“Remembrance of You” by Adailia Nanilei Lorson reminds me of a stormy cloud. The dark purple color of the plexiglass and the colors of the yarn gave the sense of gloom. The gloomy mood and use of yarn are contradictory since yarn is often representing childhood.

“Branch, Bud, Blossom” by Syd Lee appears to be a physical family tree. It is beautifully decorated with different shades of pink and the blossoming flowers and picture frames.

“Intellectual Fission” by Theo Hansen was a jarring and honest piece for me. It is a great representation of our generation and growing up in the age of technology.

“English Dreamscape” by Emily Domagala was one of my favorite pieces. It reminds me of what people imagine about London, England. Before I visited, I believed that everything looked like this work.

“Botanica Chandelier” by Andreea Avram Rusu was one of my favorite pieces. The color and placing of the glass in the petals makes it so elegant. I think this would look so good in a sitting room with lots of sun flowing through the glass petals.

“Bilbao Chair” by the Campana brothers looked so comfy. I was dying to sit in it like I was able to do with some of the other pieces. This chair looks sort of like a flower to and at the same time like it would swallow anyone who sat in it.

Another piece I really liked at Union Hall is “Bycatcher” by Sarah McCormick. This one reminded me of a pile of stuffed animals in the corner of a child’s bedroom. My sister and I had many stuffed animals so I looked at the piece with very fond memories.

The quote on the wall next to the piece captures the essence of this landscape. I always say when I try to take a picture of the mountains it never does them justice. This quote reminds me of how the landscapes out here simply have to be seen.

I enjoyed this piece because of the expression of the seasons. There is a coldness to the background of winter but moving into spring there is a joyful and light feeling in the air. The contrast between each one is slight since the composition is similar yet there if you look closely.

Dancer by Perry Olanna is a fun piece full of movement. It’s clear even without the title that the person is dancing and moving. This piece of artwork caught my eye immediately in the museum because of how fun and light it seems.

The Sea by Federico Herrero is energetic. He captures the energy of the ocean by using bright colors. The sea is untamed and beautiful which Herrero captured in the painting.

The use of a bucket as a chair is interesting as that would not be comfortable to sit in normally. However, this chair was comfortable and sturdy.

The color gradients seen in this Mandala is so impressive as the medium is sand. Appreciating the labor that went into this piece of artwork is so important. Overall a beautiful piece.
