I like wezterm. The config is in lua and really reasonable. I was a former tmux user but can get by with tabs and slit panes.

Probably using AWS as a load balancer pointing at self hosted resources.

I've heard of some doing on-prem with the option to provision additional resources in the cloud. Something like that would be good at saving money while handling large bursts of traffic.
