A second demonstration showing Zach doesn’t understand commercial nuclear power plants put up the funds for a deep geological repository. These same plants have been suing the federal government because the repository was not built, and the waste continues to sit on site in temp dry storage.
Why just the states with commercial reactors? Why not ones with non-power reactors? They make spent fuel, too.
Also, why stop at the state borders with power plants when the electricity they produce crosses state lines?

Here Zach demonstrates his ignorance of the nuclear waste policy act by lumping weapons waste and non power reactor waste under the funding paid for by commercial nuclear power reactors.
I think that brings us up to 30ish different Yucca Mountians? Plus one, somewhere for non-power reactors. Including all the weapons production waste.
