Software Engineer, husband, and father, who likes to play a little guitar, and ride his mtn bike (though not at the same time).
He/Him
I fixed it for that one guy

"Check out the degree on that chick" - no intimidated little boy ever

Not quite yet, but soon, but I don't think it has that animatronic. Someday I'll make it out to Anaheim. Thanks!

Is this Disneyland? Sorry for the ignorance.

I've been screaming this and being laughed at...

While you are correct that our spending could use an actual audit (not what DOGE is doing) the guy you accepted gave trillions in tax breaks to those who didn't need them last time rather than lowering the debt for the American people. But he definitely won't sell you out this time... /s

As a current lead developer with a background teaching (or at least trying to) social studies. I can confirm the benefits my liberal arts education has had on my coding career.

Note: I often lightly paraphrase this quote. I looked it up, it's technically "All you have to do is cross out the wrong words"

Goes right along with one of my favorite Mark Twain quotes, "Writing is easy. You just cross out all the bad parts"

Hardwire it to a 240 outlet. Go big. Lose limbs.

Does the fact that I was equal parts "Hell Yeah" and "This will end badly" mean I'm getting old? Probably...

I vividly heard :

A squirrel
Darning socks

in Neil's voice. Not sure why just that line.

Death is Terry's best character in my opinion. The quote that always comes to mind for me is the beginning of Sourcery -

"... And what would humans be without love?"
RARE said Death, NEVERTHELESS-

Damn, I guess I have to catch up on my Star Wars. LOL

But all jokes aside, exactly my take.
September 29, 2023 at 12:46 PM
Possibly. Most of the people left in that-other-place at this point didn't bother looking to get out until Elon threatened to charge them. Why I'm still sitting on 5 invites atm...
September 25, 2023 at 2:30 PM
Exactly this. Most movies can't pull this off with a fraction of the runtime of this game.
September 25, 2023 at 1:13 PM
Can confirm. I have 5 sitting there.
September 19, 2023 at 1:24 AM
Exactly, I started using it to avoid back issues as I'm a software developer, and the mental benefits were even more stark than the physical ones.

That's a solidly linguistic guess, and a tasty one. Why not both?

It's basically to set a timer alternately to two values. First a long(ish) time (25 - 30 min is generally accepted) then a short one (5 minutes or so generally). During the long span you work, fully focused. Any time a distraction comes to you you push it off to the 5 minutes timer. Rinse/Repeat
August 17, 2023 at 1:19 PM
Timers? Are you a Pomodoro technique fan too? It's saved my butt more than once.
August 17, 2023 at 1:13 PM
Can't imagine it has much more bullshit than small team stuff does. It would be unfamiliar, however, and I guess I'm still holding on to the bs I know.
August 14, 2023 at 11:44 PM
Ugh. This just tells me I need to be more open to a better job. I have a ton of responsibility for mediocre pay, at least from a software dev perspective.
August 14, 2023 at 11:39 PM
Not at all what I did, but whatever.
