Ooh! That’s super cool! Rules have always been the hardest bit for me, so making your own is beyond impressive!

How long did it take you to put something like that together?

Friday the 13th (1980)

I HAD to watch the original, especially since it's a classic.

For something so tame compared to today's horror, I loved it. It was a simple premise that was executed well. I also knew nothing about the twist.

Great watch, and can't wait to see the others.

Nosferatu (2024)

I’m a simp for muted colors, so the style was up my alley.

A traditional vampire film and remake that feels intimately unsettling. However, it felt a little slow in places, and felt more like a chance to play in the environment than tell the story since it’s well known.

The Lighthouse (2019)

Another one on my list strictly for atmosphere and aesthetic.

I appreciated how simple the story was. It made it easy to see where things were headed, which gave little details a place to shine.

Queer monster fuckers of the ocean variety (like myself) had a good time.

Trick ‘r Treat (2007)

I love a good single storyline with branching perspectives, especially when each storyline is its own rollercoaster.

Definitely a classically-styled horror movie that’s definitely dated in terms of subject.

I personally think the evil is justified in this one.

The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

Had this on my watch list, and didn’t know what to expect.

It felt more like a slasher sci-fi thriller, which is wild to me. Also INCREDIBLY self-aware at times, which was refreshing.

Very fun to see this take on a ‘Young People in a Creepy Cabin’ story.

Men (2022)

I don’t know why I originally pressed play. I also don’t know why I kept watching.

The intrigue had me for the first half as I started noticing what things were off about the town.

Then… the second half happened.

Then… it ended.

All I can say is “What in the fuck…?”

Sinners (2025)

Not a film about vampires, but a film WITH vampires. There’s a huge focus on the importance of music, particularly in the history of Black America.

This film also includes a breathtaking moment of timelessness brought together by music, culture, and community.

Highly recommend!

I love the aesthetic and artistry of BJD, but have never committed to one myself. Some day, though. Some day!
