Everything I’m seeing today comes back to one central theme of at least the last two decades (since I’ve started following politics): Democrats at least pretend to hold themselves to a public ethical standard while Republicans don’t bother, but Republicans hammer Democrats on that standard.

Democrats have been playing a rigged game for my entire adult life. They hold themselves to a public ethical standard while Republicans don’t. It’s like going into a boxing match with one arm tied behind your back. These are the kinds of things that allow Republicans to be competitive.

This is a prime example of something that Trump and his followers would do without a second thought but will raise seven hells about Biden being above the law. Democrats are held to a high ethical standard in this country while Republicans are not held to an ethical standard at all.

I was a registered Republican from 2012-2021 but only voted Republican from 2012-2016. Once they decided they were the party of Trump, they lost me forever. It just took a few years to change my registration because I wasn’t convinced it affected anything.

I worked in casinos for five years and always said I’ve never seen anyone smile on a slot machine. They’re zombification devices, literally designed to keep you pressing the button as robotically as possible. They don’t want you to be well-rounded or alert. Meta’s products feel the same to me.

This is giving him way too much credit. Listening to him speak doesn’t leave me with any confidence that he’s capable of this level of planning or thinking.

This is what the right has done to great effect.

I have always marveled at this phenomenon. Left-wing media tries to appear unbiased, and Dems get criticized. Right-wing media does not try to appear unbiased, and Dems get criticized. The net result is Dems take the majority of the real flack, and the GOP *still* claims media is out to get them.

My brain keeps reading it as “BLOO-skee” and I can’t make it stop.
