And I cannot find the article (since I don’t subscribe to the NYT), but I am very curious what Staley had in his article on what Twitter did to people’s brains.

Exactly! The idea that the Gov should be checking everyone has very Lucille Bluth energy. “How much time does a background check take, Michael?”

And I did look at your page. You say that you are following in the tradition of Chief Little Turtle. Which, unless one of you is actually Indigenous, is just fucking offensive. How dare you compare your project to someone trying to survive colonization. Chief Little Turtle didn’t say “Hey, satire!”

Actually…according to the Siemens Company itself, it’s “Sea-mans” in English language countries. I mean, you might know more than the company, so there’s that.

The author is relying on a study done by OpenAI on how students use ChatGPT! The most interested party possible! That all by itself invalidates this entire piece. Indeed, it makes it like a ChatGPT essay itself—it relies on a study of dubious validity without any critical thought.

Hahaha! Keeperman’s *hilarious* He’s just a guy with an MFA who was a lecturer at UC Irvine for a decade! How would he know how to pronounce French! Also, it’s pretty sad that UCI have an MFA to someone who thinks that “if I like it then it might be right wing.”

Some would say that it’d be pretty easy to find *considering you commented on a post with the article*. That clicking the link in the post would do it.

But here’s the link again, if you want to read the article.

Wow. You have the courage of your convictions. First, you assert this your criticism is directed at Emptywheel. Second, she calls you out on it. Third, you equivocate and half-take it back. So: big talk in the replies, not so much when quoted. Cowardice in three acts.

Just on a factual note:
There are plenty of studies showing that college tuition has risen at a reasonably steady rate since 1980 (adjusted for inflation). The biggest increase was in that notable era of wokeness, the Reagan years. And the largest push for adjunctification came in the 1990s.

The section I found on the website didn’t say no hallucinations. It said that they would minimize them. Minimization is subject (reduced by how much?), but it is not elimination. L

Today I learned that the town square requires being able to sell products without anyone criticizing the product, particular a product that be used to put TAs out of work.
December 15, 2024 at 3:14 AM
The assumptions justifying the product are faulty. ChatGPT can’t offer “individual tracking and guidance at each student.” (The very fact that the OP uses the word “at” is way too telling. Should we want guidance “for” students?)

So premise is flawed. It assumes that AI can do something it can’t.

Brilliant timing. Someone trying to scam people under the guise of United Healthcare. I don’t know if people will fall for it and think less of UHC. Or somehow think that UHC is trying improve its reputation by giving out toothbrushes.
