Just gonna note that I’m in Germany right now and this announcement shocked the foreign policy folks.
8 years ago news of Tulsi Gabbard becoming Trump's DNI would have triggered panic in European capitals.
Now in London, Paris, Rome and Warsaw it will barely elicit a weary "bof" as the EU/UK states start working out how to bypass the Americans when sharing intel.
