It would certainly make things easier but Europe needs to get its shit together and decide how far they're willing to go to support Ukraine first and those countries like Hungary who would rather do nothing should be frozen out of any discussions

I'll believe it when he says it publically or its reported by an outlet I believe has credible anonymous sources
February 18, 2025 at 9:46 AM
They want it frozen but with concessions from the US and Europe in regards to sanctions. A frozen conflict with sanctions in place would benefit Ukraine more than Russia
February 18, 2025 at 9:34 AM
They think they're paying a useless agency to tell them what the weather segment in the news would for free not realising where that sort of data comes from

Ah yes, it's time for the Annual Year Of Linux On The Desktop 2025

He should show up and simply state "I was talking about Kursk"

Impeached by who? Activists failing to follow the law?
February 16, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Blender started development by and around industry professionals so it had a better grasp of what was needed in that environment. I remember a point where GIMP didn't even support CYMK at all meaning a large portion of commerical photoshop users and potential investors ignored it.

Putin wants a frozen conflict and he needs sanctions easing before his economy reaches a tipping point that may end with him no longer being in power. Trump was explicity cultivated for this purpose according to the Steele Dossier

There are plenty of good and decent people on Twitter and there's plenty of lies and propaganda here. The issue with Twitter is it exists to promote whatever Elon thinks via arbitrary moderation and behind the scenes promotion of specific political views
February 16, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Russia's economy is at a tipping point and Trump's sudden wish to "end the war" is in line with the Steele Dossiers claims about cultivating Trump to ease Ukraine-related sanctions. That was in 2016 and things have only gotten worse since then.
February 16, 2025 at 12:44 PM
The USA has already said Europe will not be a part of negotiations, I'm not sure what that means in a practical sense because Russia will want easing of sanctions and I think that's Russia's main goal, secondary being keeping Crimea.

of leaders, those who choose people they feel best skilled at finishing the job properly and those who pick people they know will do as they're told and not rock the boat because hey, you're the leader, you're the important one here
February 16, 2025 at 11:27 AM
There's no point surrounding yourself with a skilled cabinet when you're as narcissistic as Trump is. He's not there to advise Trump on defence, is job is only to be loyal like the SS motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" when there's a job to do and a team to pick then there are two types 1/2

Historically calls for a "European Army" have meant an integrated one under a separate command structure than individual countries' rather than a more standardised way to conduct joint operations.

They're mostly computer people rather than design/illustration people who like it because it's a free open source alternative. Go make a tweet saying your laptop is running slow after you upgraded it to Windows 11 and see how many people come out of the woodwork to say "Have you tried Linux?"
February 16, 2025 at 10:26 AM
Trump is just incapable of understanding that the question "What can the US get out of this?" is not always answered in terms of money or resources. He's squandered something you can't buy: the US' credibility in terms of honouring treaties and agreements. He doesn't understand long term interests
February 16, 2025 at 5:11 AM
Saves his country from what? Clearly not tyrants. The rule of law and the right to a fair trial?
February 16, 2025 at 4:55 AM
Adobe are shit. GIMP is also shit and there's always a gaggle of people who will recommend it as if it was any way comparable to Photoshop. It's the "we have photoshop at home" equivalent.
February 16, 2025 at 4:52 AM
The "why would X do Y, it would be such a stupid move and make them look bad?" line of apologia is the worst because they never consider that they actually are bad
February 15, 2025 at 1:11 PM
just the end of the process i.e if people just want to browse the web, do some office-type work choices are daunting distractions that put new users off.
February 15, 2025 at 12:56 PM
People don't even want to pick desktop/window manager to use before they download the install image. Linux does have a lot of choices but you're either taking time to learn and make an informed choice, or happier without even being asked and given either because you're not interested in the workflow
February 15, 2025 at 12:54 PM
Why would the war end if Ukraine gives USA resources? Clearly the USA could end the war right now, it doesn't need the minerals to do so. But what about giving Ukraine all it's territory and people back? This emphasis on "ending" the war is getting tiresome. The ceasefire itself has no value for Ukr

Remember when Musk fired all the competent software engineers at Twitter and he broke the site? These are the kids he hired so he could pay them less
