#100DaysofHalloween 37: #TheyLive

Starting today with a vaguely libertarian critique of 80s commercialism and capitalist dystopia.

What's your favorite line?

Every atrocity in history was caused by what humans are willing to do to each other.

Every day is an opportunity to experience something new. Some of those days you do it heels.

Once you become a 'film nerd ' you have all these obscure films that you absolutely LOVE but no one is talking about near enough.

These are some of mine.

First up in today's horror-thon. The Apex of 2000s zombie films.

Around here, we observe Friday the 13th the right way.

So raise your fists
And march around
Don’t dare take what you need
I’ll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or I’ll drag you to your grave
I’m deep inside your children
They’ll betray you in my name

Second day of Pride brings us these two gems. A sapphic feminist gore fest and a not quite as good as the original but still pretty solid exploration of otherness.

Happy Pride everyone.

Today's film was Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge

Easily the gayest of the era and terrible in all the right ways.

Forgot how gritty this one was. It's pure 90s at its darkest. Bleak and pessimistic.

An interesting commentary on the choices we make and the consequences within. The rules that protect us and the ones that contain us.

Finally got around to watching The Rule of Jenny Pen. What an absolute bonkers commentary on the indignity of growing old and what matters when everything else is taken away. Brilliant but deeply upsetting.

Saw. Thunderbolts* in 3D 4DX and this is what that technology was made for. Very fun. Very unserious yet dramatic when necessary.

Recommend.

Because clothes don't have gender and this non-binary person celebrates that.

Rocky Horror/Friday the 13th crossover for the 41st.

I don't even know how to understand this. The Department of #MentalHealth is now part of the...Department of Corrections???

This is the exact opposite of anything good or intelligent. It's like the worst human instincts are being put in display.

I took my first Adderall today and boy do I have questions.

1: Like, you guys really don't have 10,000 thoughts every minute that you just choose to ignore?

2: So.....nuerotypicals can't *feel* their brains working?

3: Legit...is the world that slow....ALL THE TIME???

It was so...quiet.

Number 8 of 2025: Born a Crime: Trevor Noah

What an incredible story. It starts out funny and gets real very fast but doesn't lose that charm Trevor is known for. This is a lot to process.
