I don’t think Jesus was joking when he told us to love our neighbours.
Thankful for the work of @sojo.net - a meaningful reflection for today. sojo.net/articles/opi...
MLK's Dream Is Trump's Nightmare
Martin Luther King Jr. envisioned a world where even enemies are worthy of love. In Trump’s vision? Not so much.

The Bible is a diverse collection of ancient writings spanning hundreds of years and multiple cultures. So it's remarkable how consistent they are in calling for economic justice for the poor.

This isn't some add-on to the gospel. It's embedded in it.

About me - once, during a Christmas trivia event, the question was, “How many ghosts visit Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol?”
My response (with great confidence), “Five! There’s Marley, Marley, Past, Present, Yet to Come”
Was advised that is, in fact, unique to the Muppets.

Now that the #Soto sweepstakes have been won, I am waiting to see how badly the #BlueJays will disappoint me with their off-season. I will be (pleasantly!) surprised if any lessons were learned after losing the #Ohtani sweepstakes last year.

How truly broken our relationships must be for a person (or people!) to feel that their only paths to freedom are violent.
What does Jesus’ ethic of peace have to say to us in this time and place?

Wow - what a read. To my Canadian friends who think we’d be better off with a privatized, for-profit system, read this first.
