Still plugging away on Russian. Have been fascinated by it since seeing Vladimir Posner on American TV in the 1970s speaking perfect New York City English. 10yo me thought it would be wild to learn to speak Russian like a native. Now with the internet - here we go.

Around age 8, one of my kids somehow got hold of St. Alphonsus de Liguori's book "Preparation for Death", she's been messed up ever since with religious scrupulosity and fear. Once someone invents a time machine, I'll happily give everything I have to go back and undo my parental mistakes.
