Houston sports fan! Let’s talk Rockets, Texans, and Stros.
Interesting stat. Seems a pretty accurate observation and it kinda tracks what I’ve watched the first few games. He definitely seems to rush his shots and I’m guessing the extra distance gives him both the physical and mental space to shoot in rhythm. Hoping that comfort on close outs comes w/reps

I think it’s because he takes a lot of tough shots. He ranges 3+ feet outside the stripe pretty regularly and even those still seem a little sped up. I’d bet when he gets more comfortable he’ll settle into a high 30s % shooter at a pretty decent volume. Definitely room to grow though.

That being said he’s still a solid nba player and he’s still super young (even relative to the other guys in that draft) so there’s a lot of room for improvement.

This is overthinking it. One he’s not competing with Sengun who plays at the 5. Jabari’s issue isn’t psychological or even minutes. He just can’t put the ball on the floor at all, and all the other aspects of his game are just pretty good. He has no outstanding skills right now.

Man that’s a pretty good track record.

I’m not sure what the Knicks have available that HOU would want. Assuming the starters are off the table, and since BKN owns all the picks, it’d seem to be hard to put together a viable package. Whitmore alone might be doable though because maturity issues.

He is a bad player right now. Maybe it slows down but he just isn’t trustworthy. Cam is probably a better ?

Is it weird I said the same thing to myself the other day riding around downtown but when I just read that same sentiment from an outsider I felt offended?

Yeah the bad shooter thing was so not expected. I figured at the very least he could come in as a situational spot up shooter even if the rest of his game needed development. I think there’s enough track record at this point to worry about the shot. Def needs playing time though.

Love the way Udoka throws shade. He’s so funny. Doesn’t hold back. Keep em accountable. And the better you play the more he holds your feet to the fire.

I feel like there have to be different people ranking their best players in the NBA and Trade Value lists for this to make sense.
January 31, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Criteria on this is so weird. By their own admission they list Sengun as their current 37th best player at 22 years old but they have him behind guys like Trey Murphy and Jalen Suggs who are both worse and older on same list. Trade value is so subjective but there’s just so many odd choices here.
January 31, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Well then nevermind! Incoming 40 bomb from Mr. Amen for an easy win. Good thing we’re not playing Detroit though.
January 29, 2025 at 4:24 AM
That’s a loss if I ever saw one. The motivation for the Grizz is gonna be through the roof. Feels like a game you lose 80% of the time. They’re a much better team than what they’ve shown against The Rockets this year.
January 29, 2025 at 4:11 AM
I can’t imagine this year. Jabari still gives them a lot of flexibility from a lineup perspective which could be big in the playoffs. Ideally he’d probably start over Brooks with Amen moving to the three. Eason works well off the bench especially with injury issues.
January 28, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Man that might be tough. The counting stats will be hard to get having played half the season off the bench. It could happen but he needs to keep on playing crazy minutes at the bonkers level he played recently. Just not many guys scoring under 20 make all-nba.
January 28, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Worse than Josh Hart and Norman Powell? Brother I think he may already be better than Kyrie and maybe a couple of others on that list. Think you underestimate how good some of us think he is.
January 28, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Further context, Rockets didn’t have Amen Thompson (suspension) or Tari Eason (injury) that game. Those guys really make everything work for the team.
January 27, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Do you really think a couple of teams cheaping out is a bigger issue than a handful of teams being able to use the rest of the league as their minor league system? I mean look at the Allstar squads the Yankees and Dodgers are trotting out there every game. It’s wild.
January 19, 2025 at 7:30 PM
Part of me wants a total snub for the whole team if we’re being honest. Talk about motivation. The “No one believes in us” mantra will be nightmare fuel in this year’s playoffs.
January 17, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Yeah frankly I couldn’t give a flip if Sengun makes the squad or not this year. I don’t mind him getting a chip on his shoulder from a snub cause it doesn’t mean anything. He is truthfully pretty borderline this year and needs to get his FG% back up to his normal 60%+.
January 17, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Kings playing really good and Rockets on second night of a back to back. This is a difficult game to win. If they get this one it says a whole lot.
