Had a great writing night! Was able to attend a creative writing salon hosted by @ginademillowagner.bsky.social at Briggs Street Books & Music and wrote an exciting scene in our Tattered Cover Writers Club Sprint!

Question Writers: I’m writing a revolutionary leader and borrowing the style of civil rights leaders. One modern leader/writer in particular. It’s far from an exact copy, but intentional style is used. What’re your thoughts on this? Theft? Homage? Admiration?

We’re in a folk music renaissance and that should be concerning. The last time I feel folk artists wrote this impactfully was Dylan and the 60’s - things weren’t great. Just heard Billy Simon’s song “Great Again.” And listen to anything by Jesse Welles.
