I was always looking forward to that PC Gamer demo disk. It’s kind of fun as an adult to go find cheap copies of all those games you couldn’t buy as a teenager.

I grew up South West of Boston and I think we exclusively called them bulkie rolls. My mom is from outside Worcester, so I don't know if I picked it up from her or what.

I had to go into one with a CVS inside to get my boosters the other day, first time in since the boycott. They make the loss prevention staff act as greeters now, it's bizarre.

I feel that way about guitar, easy to make music without really knowing what you’re doing but very difficult to actually know the instrument.

I learned about this maybe a year ago and couldn’t wrap my head around it. “You work out the meaning of a word from context clues? Oh, I do that.” “No, you work out the actual word through context and the words you already know and guess the words.” I don’t understand how this caught on.

People still were when I worked at one back in the early to mid ‘00s, but I have no recollection of asking for ID. I mainly just remember having to process checks for a pack of gum.
