Should a Linux hostname include the FQDN? That's a rabbit hole I didn't expect to jump down today and it seems that RedHat and Debian have different approaches. #linux

A few hours into Readwise Reader and I'm liking it as a read-it-later app. Not explored the RSS capability yet as currently using Feedly. #secondbrain #productivity

Pocket library exported and successfully imported into Readwise Reader. Now to do a sample check that everything has come across. So far, so good. #productivity #secondbrain

Sad that Pocket is closing down. Have been a paid subscriber for over five years. Will probably move to Readwise Reader.

@breakintoprogram.co.uk Hi. Just wondering, are you still working on BBC BASIC V for the Agon Light? I've been programming the Agon over the weekend and would have benefited from some of the additional features of BASIC V... :-)

It's clear from today that the current US administration is hostile towards Europe and the West. Hopefully this will continue to fuel the drive towards closer alignment between the UK and EU, European co-operation in defence, energy and technology developments.

Much respect to President Zelensky for enduring the appalling behaviour of that dimwitted malignant narcissist and his overconfident puppy today. They're bullies and no friend of Ukraine.

MiSTer successes this week: Set up the Archimedes, Atari ST and Amiga cores, all booting from hard disks. Bit of a learning curve but lots of fun doing it. #MiSTer #retrocomputing

@retrorgb.bsky.social Hi there! Have you ever taken a look at the Bitfunx RetroScaler2x? I've seen some comments that it's just a clone of the Retrotink 2x, but would be interested in your thoughts if you've used one. Thanks.

OSSC working with the BBC Master 128, the Amiga 600, and the Acorn A3010. Especially like that the A3010 which can now run both TV and VGA resolutions. Still much to learn and tweak.

Treated myself to an Open Source Scan Converter (OSSC) for Christmas. Got it working with the BBC Master 128. Looks good, but lots of options and things to learn.

Accidentally won an Ebay auction for an Acorn Electron. My first - and now latest - computer (when it arrives).

Just modified and updated a Unix shell script I originally wrote back in August 2004!

Upgraded by “Late 2014” Mac Mini to a new Mac Mini M4 with 24GB RAM and 512GB SSD. Very nice upgrade and much faster (obvs). Hoping this will last the next 8-10 years!

Of course, the OG social network was Usenet and I still lament that it's effectively not a thing anymore.

Well, I've decided to join the masses moving from "the other place" to Bluesky.

I wish that Mastodon had gained more mind share, but it is more complicated to get your head around.

Hope that both can survive and flourish and that we are not left at the whim of a few billionaires.
