Hi there! Nice to meet you!

NSW, Australia

[bridged from https://aus.social/@jromz03 on the fediverse by https://fed.brid.gy/ ]
Full moon tonight. Taken 9:30pm-ish.

Note: Southern hemisphere, so our moon's positioned a tad different. :P

Sombrero Galaxy. Unfortunately, the clouds rolled in on what was supposed to be a (mostly) clear night.

So this represent only the captured red channel of the galaxy. Boo! Maybe I'll complete the other channels if and when the weather permits.

Tarantula Nebula (NGC 2070).

Always a treat to target this DSO.

This was taken 3 years ago in #dubbo. Miss that place!

"Four planets. Jupiter (bottom), Venus, Mars, Saturn. Taken from Earth 😂"

Now thats a planetary alignment!

10:30am and #moon still visible. Sun is extra harsh on the skin, too.

Bug Nebula... Or maybe I should call mine the red smudge nebula instead?

There's no "dark side" of the Moon
All sides of the Moon get sunlight at different times. The “far side” is just the part we can’t see from Earth due to tidal locking—it always keeps the same face toward us.

Afternoon Sun.

Using a Lunt 40mm (single) + ASI178MC.

Trifid Nebula.

Clouds attack last night left barely any red channel subs. green and blue also had clouds blurring the image even more.

Messier 8 or Lagoo Nebula.

Following the same process using QHY minicam 8. This time only 45 mins per R/G/B channel.

Southern Pinwheel Galaxy.

I've used QHY minicam8 mono, captured 1.5 hours each of the red, green, and blue channels. (No Ha, O2 or S2).

Merged using Siril, Gimp just for the final touches.

Antennae Galaxies. Looks like a <3, wifey said it looks like a scroll.

Terrible capture session last night. After 45 mins of capture (out of 4+ hours scheduled). The rest were rubbish because of either an issue with autoguiding or unexpected clouds. Who knows, I […]

MLAstro (https://mlastro.com) has an interesting different way of capturing solar. Going to have to watch that space and see how it goes.

Had a go with the planetary alignment.

Multiple shots from west to east, stitched. Unfortunately, further planets will not be visible.
