Reporting live from "war ravaged Portland" where (checks notes) a collective of non-profits that help at-risk youth just turned an abandoned building into a community space and celebrated with free food, an open mic, and an excellent multi-cultural hip hop show.

"Mathematics is the language of nature."

(Also, thanks to the readers and booksellers whose advocacy for this weird book has never relented. Y'all are amazing!)

Went 1/2 a year without posting. Here's an update:

*NOT DEAD

*Got a day job - data analytics/compliance

*Became a full time snowboarding dad

*Quit drinking, way healthier

*Finally feel like writing another novel - I know it has to be wild and funny and that's it right now

Happy and proud to say the IN THE RIVER royalty drive for Path Home has running for 6 years! Being able to aid them in their mission to help families stay safe and housed has been really beautiful.

To anyone who's participated...none of this happens without you. THANK YOU!

Couldn't be more excited to return to Powell's with the big homie Paul! This is our first in-person tag team event at the legendary Powell's City of Books, and we get to talk about Paul's wonderful, spry, and weirdly haunting new novel HORROR MOVIE. Can't wait!

Y'ALL, I FINALLY GRADUATED! I earned a B.S. in Business Admin, majoring in Tech & Analytics. And I closed out this adventure summa cum laude, with an average grade around 99.25.

4 years! 1.5 of those doing night school in an unfinished garage. This was wild. Onward & upward!

Man - 46 today!

Feeling really thankful that I'm still here, that I've recovered my running from a gnarly injury (got in a 5K at dawn!), that I'm almost a college grad, that my writing career (magically) persists, and that my wife and kid are just the best. Onward and upward!

The best of my weird fiction, collected as SUSURROS, is now available in Argentina thanks to Mat Guillan and UOiEA. And dig that cover!

If you showed this to the version of me that was absolutely scrambling for reviews in 2006, winging copies of ANGEL DUST APOCALYPSE at everybody on MySpace that had "Cronenberg" in their profile, he'd lose his damn mind.

Never cracked 1K - this is really cool! I'm so grateful.

Well, the Sadie Hartmann x Keith Rosson Powell's event was wonderful as expected. Keith and Sadie packed out the room, read cool excerpts, had a really engaging back and forth, talked horror and their beautiful new books, and had a signing line around the corner when I left!

16 Summer school credits in 4 weeks again. Only way to graduate on time after only doing night school while I was my son's 4th grade teacher during early Covid.

I pull this off, I graduate Xmas '23. Then it's back to the workforce & writing career & maybe even a social life!

This is my second grade class photo but it's also how I feel about joining another social app. Anyway, great to be here at this vague facsimile of my once favorite cesspool, and thanks to the big homie Paul for sneaking me in!
