I’m too lazy to look how many cases of clear suicide where the family said that, but I’ve read about many.
And I’m not saying he was “suicidal”. I’m saying rationally, it was his best outcome.

Do we have any reason to believe this would do Epstein himself any good while he was in jail? If he could have blackmailed himself out of prison, he would have done it sooner. If not, suicide is still the only way he avoids the awful things prison had in store for him.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Amazon prevents robots from crawling its book samples, but I’m not sure either way.

I’ve never understood this. Imagine for a minute you were some rich persons consigliere and it was your job to make Epstein dead. Would you get your hands dirty? Or would you visit him and remind him how badly other prisoners treat child abusers and how he would be better off dead?

I know they are not recommended, but it wasn’t that long ago they offered to sign up for this kind of health scan in the mall. And I’ve seen a few stories about how some companies require executives over a certain age to get a full body scan as a condition of employment.

When I discussed this with relatives, it was sad to realize that trying to tell them the truth would be attacking their remaining faith in the system. I just gave up to let them continue to believe.

There was a study that showed that students who were accepted into Elite schools, and did not go for various reasons, had the same salaries as the people who went. So I’m not convinced there’s much of an advantage to attending these schools.

The truth is we have free ACH transfers in the US. But they are so unregulated and potentially dangerous that we have to jump through weird hoops to make sure they are being used correctly. My credit union makes them relatively easy, but my ex’s bank makes it impossible to figure out how.

Hope yours goes better than mine. My doctor agrees I need physical therapy. The soonest I can get a physical therapy appointment is 2 months away.

Wow, another reason I’m glad I made a point of getting my kids into a good school. While my kids started with memorizing sight words, they quickly moved on to phonics and sounding out words to identify them. I can’t imagine getting this kind of education.
