Had an amazing time at Centre for Digital Life Norway Research School conference in Stavanger, Norway - inspiring talks, great discussions, refreshing morning swims, and of course a touch of volatiles 🍃 #DLN2025

Resubmitting a manuscript at 09:00 hits different. Feels like I just finished a 8-to-4 before breakfast. 🐝

Revising the manuscript under the watchful eye of my editor-in-fur. She’s fluffy, silent, and adorably judgmental.

And some recent core photos from the dendro lab. Do you see when mountain birch was in stress? 👀 2/2

Admiring a mountain birch core in the field vs in the microscope. Pending: linking dendro data to VOC emissions. Can´t wait to see the results 1/2 🪵🍃🐛

Very exciting day! My friend, Laura, is defending her PhD thesis today: "On the evolution of floral traits." 🌺🌸🌼🐝 Her work also includes volatiles (floral scent )—my favourite topic!

Yesterday, we dove into a collective creative writing experience led by Paul Acker—scientist, performer, and writer. We crafted and performed incredible texts, exploring the inner world of scientists, the duality of being both human and researcher. The energy was electric, the words alive. What a ride!

Inspired by @nasmillelarkemejia.bsky.social:
As a kid,I’d disappear into the meadows of Latvia, picking flowers, pressing leaves in books, drying plants for tea. Now,I study plant chemistry and its role in a changing world. After all these years, still fascinated-just like in meadow days #WomenInStem

I am currently based @Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where I explore how genetic differences shape the volatilomes of mountain birch populations. Funded by VILLUM fonden 🧬🍃🐛https://villumfonden.dk/en/vipo-2022 2/n
