Preached a funeral this AM for a young man of 21 who was killed in a vehicle crash. (Was on the vent for 2 1/2 weeks.) He was a Vols fan and so is his dad. I hate losing, but I’m happy for my friend. And @atticus59914029.bsky.social I went fishing after the funeral. It helped.

Hey @atticus59914029.bsky.social, the other night I had catfish, hushpuppies, and slaw at Top O' the River in Guntersville, AL. If you are ever in that area, you owe it to yourself to have some. I skipped them this time, but they also have good mustard greens and fried pickles.

I am thankful this is not the day to honor the grandfather who was sent to France during WWI. Nov. 11 will be his day, but do take a moment to value our democratic ideals and the sacrifices that have been made.

I was born into the still-segregated South but was able to witness a lot of progress. However, it now seems that racism has become has become respectable again. Oh, people have to avoid a few words, but racist attitudes are everywhere.
