Yes, basically what Tim Miller was saying yesterday…instead we have idiotic messaging from the defectors offering no compelling justification to calm outrage, rather, they seem to equate their capitulation to defeat…or at least the latter is drowning out the former…messaging is embarrassingly bad.

I agree…a form of quiet quitting is going to happen in the organization and small dollar segments—things critical to carrying the party forward—absent some heads rolling (figuratively speaking) at the leadership level.

Their points are well made and they’re right to note it’s the terminally online dems/progressives who are the overly pissed off sect…but, as Tim notes, the messaging by the 8 defectors as to the “why” has sucked and does little to calm by offering no compelling reason why this move works politically

And one of them, Angus, even went on TV and offered no true insight or stroke of genius justification as to why and, instead, effectively (even if unwittingly) equated his capitulation with defeat—and a win for Trump—it was unbelievable.

Exactly, and he’s embarrassingly admitting it in this completely nonsensical justification for caving, it’s wild. Guess it was too much to think we’d actually hear some sort principled belief that the move was a stroke of strategic genius (and why) and not just a stroke of cowardice and capitulation

He’s really struggling to justify his capitulation as some strategic genius…the strategy was, “a 70-90% percent chance of getting nothing is better than a 100% chance of getting nothing.” While mathematically correct, he’s inasmuch admitting better odds mean nothing given the political realities.

Yeah, I fully understand that she’s the same POS, but to those less in-tune politically, she’s is wise to shift in this moment for her own self-preservation and goals…although, candidly, I’m not sure there’ll be any payoff because you can’t just hit the delete button on well documented hideousness.

Yes…never woulda have thought MTG would be the prescient one and recognize that maintaining unyielding alignment with Trump is increasingly a ticket through the exit door…that’s why I find the cheap, Trump knock-off routines by supposed smart guys like JD ironic and funny.

I’m only part of an anecdote, but HD hasn’t seen a dollar from me in months. I’ve shifted my consumer DIY $$ toward places I hope are less “play ball-y” with ICE.
