This is dangerous. More than 60 medical groups opposed this decision to overturn the longstanding, science-based recommendation that saves lives.
The CDC approved a sweeping change to the nation’s childhood immunization schedule, endorsing a recommendation from a federal advisory panel to drop the long-standing practice of giving all newborns a hepatitis B vaccine within 24 hours of birth.

This isn't going to save any lives. If anything, it will kill more people as it is being used as a justification for war.

A 15% reduction in Medicare payments for nearly 800 lab tests is set to take effect Jan. 31. Letting the cuts take effect will leave clinical laboratories with less money to spend on developing new diagnostics or technologies to deliver quicker results. #StopLabCuts

In the NPR interview, @PeteButtigieg had a warning about AI.

He talked of it creating problems so vast, so quickly, that can grow beyond the ability even of a strong government to address.

Why in the world would anyone think that news about Biden being old would be relevant to anything that’s going on right now? It just doesn’t make any sense. Of course there’s a ton of stuff that doesn’t make any sense. Going on right now.
So we are on Year 6 of wall-to-wall ‘Biden is Old’ media coverage. Very exciting. Very relevant. Ratings gold.

At least according to the movie “Ferris Buelers Day Off” the tariffs threw us deeper into the depression:

You will never starve on a cruise.

At breakfast this morning. Plate full with scrambled eggs, hash brown, bacon and fried potatoes too. Two different servers ask if I want an omelette. Nope, I’m good.

Sit down at a table and a different server walks up to pour coffee. 1/2

In other news, I actually got to use my expensive Spanish degree today, and I haven’t even made it to Spain yet.

Was in the hotel lobby getting some coffee and a man walked up next to me.

Man: Hola.

Me: Hola. ¿Como esta?

That was it. That was the entire conversation.

Did anyone else notice there seemed to be a lot of fights during and after football games this weekend, both NCAA and Pros?

And what’s with the whole ‘planting the flag’ on your opponents home field thing? Seems like beating somebody on their home field should be plenty.

Another one of my all time favorite albums, Jackson Browne’s Running in Empty was released in 1977. The album hit No. 3 in the Billboard Pop Albums chart in 1978 and stayed in the charts for a total of 65 weeks.

So many great songs on this album! #ClassicRock

What is your favorite college football rivalry?

Sitting here watching the Michigan - Ohio State game and wondering if there are any fiercer rivalries than between these two teams? Maybe Alabama - Auburn? 1/2

Indeed, I wrote a whole article about how the abject incompetence of "AI" that exists in the real world means the "AI" of fiction and film has been revealed as optimistic at best, even the murdery ones:

This day in 1963. I think everyone my age can still remember where they were, & what they were doing when JFK was assassinated. I was in elementary school and the principal announced over the loudspeaker that JFK had been shot. Certainly one of the defining events of my life. Link in comments. #JFK

Why is it that during punts the announcer will almost always mention that a kicker is ‘left footed’ even though they never say anything about ‘right footed’ kickers?
