Have you considered the possibility that Trump truly believes Portland is a war zone, ravaged by fires and violent demonstrations? Miller and Noem, and Fox News, could be feeding him doctored videos and images that reinforce Portland as a hell hole (some of these have emerged in recent days).

I hope Newsom isn’t planning on running for president as a Democrat in 2028. Because none of us are going to support him. He’s a traitor.

Americans living in Europe should come back to the US so they can face Rubio’s ramifications here!

It’s not so much that some have more rights than others. It’s that some have no rights at all.

The only alternative to DEI that Trump will endorse is white supremacy.
April 16, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Such a stupid post.

Elon doesn’t care how the federal government works.

Huh? In his first term Trump handed classified intel to Russia. He declared he trusted Putin over the CIA. He met with Putin for 2 hours alone, and destroyed the notes. Trump has been a Putin mole for decades. Tough? Bah!

Such an intelligent and incisive comment. You must be proud.

Rubio is either ignorant or lying. Hitler came to power democratically, campaigning by demonizing gays, Jews and other minorities (like Trump and Vance). The nazification came later.
February 16, 2025 at 6:47 PM
The only way to stop Trump is a massive protest and general strike.
February 16, 2025 at 6:44 PM
We need a more general strike to bring down Trump and Musk. But this is a start.
February 16, 2025 at 5:16 PM
It’s not isolationism, per se. Trump is allying himself with Putin and Orban. He’s abandoning NATO and Europe.
February 16, 2025 at 5:14 PM
The good news is Trump dismantled FEMA so we won’t have to waste taxpayer money helping those suffering from this disaster.
February 16, 2025 at 5:08 PM
Not funny, sad.
February 16, 2025 at 5:04 PM
That’s the point. Trump despises democracy.
February 16, 2025 at 4:33 PM
Dowd turns a dangerous and illegal partnership between Trump and Musk into gossip column fodder. She is contemptible. Find some real writers, NYT.

Rubio implores Panama to convince Trump that China doesn’t run the canal.

“Please,” Rubio begged. “The guy thinks Xi is down here opening the locks. You gotta help me!”
February 2, 2025 at 8:44 PM
But not Chuck Schumer. The guy’s weak and ineffective. And not Amy Klobuchar or Fetterman - they’re accommodating, Vichy Dems. Get Buttigieg and Bernie and AOC and other gutsy, forthright Dems out there to speak for us.
February 2, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Dems could start by standing for the Constitution and the rule of law. When Trump signs an illegal executive order, fires people illegally, refuses to allocate Congressionally mandated funds or violates a treaty - Dems should post statements and hold press conferences condemning Trump’s actions.

It’s not just Gen Z. When I leave someone’s house, they now say “Stay safe” (or “safe travels”). When everybody started to do this a few years back, instead of say “thanks for stopping by” or “see you later”, it seemed odd. Now I ignore it. (My favorite goodbye phrase is “drive recklessly”)
February 2, 2025 at 8:24 PM
His voters are the ones in for a surprise.
February 1, 2025 at 1:51 PM
This is silly. First off, saints are hardly saintly. Witness the latest popes to be declared saints. Secondly, it’s just an old skull. There’s nothing there, you’re ascribing meaning to it because you want it to have meaning.

Why? I thought Scott was reasonably intelligent on climate change…
February 1, 2025 at 1:41 PM
I’d love to think that Senate Republicans value public health more than fealty to Trump. But I doubt it.
