But at many school, the ballooning class sizes and administrative demands on faculty time are making AI almost unavoidable. @anniemcc.bsky.social relayed some hair raising stories about 7k student STEM courses seemingly as punishment for the grad COLA strike 3/5

This is obviously an effort to buy compliance. And it would be easy to villainize faculty who participate. This is often less of a choice than it looks, esp for faculty on one year contracts or being paid per class. Sure, some tenured faculty will willingly participate in this shit. 2/5
