I'd recommend an archaeological survey before tree-ring dating to inform the context and phasing of the building... and also to make sure the building is suitable for dendro 🙂

Bail Hill is still a well chunky feature in the landscape. We investigated it on the way to a rather good pub in 2021 🍺

Really late example is that but Victorian masons regularly made copies of mediaeval originals. The description of mooning from foliage sounds a lot like a 14thC original at Norwich Cathedral 🧐🙂
