The sound came again. A deep rustle from the undergrowth. She’d thought it was wildlife but it wasn’t scuttling away...it was keeping pace with her. Dense bushes formed a dark tunnel; her breath was loud, the smell of peat overwhelming and the rustling just got louder. @cbcreative.bsky.social
